Hi Clarence,
I hope this email find you well. I was looking for articles to go with my proposal and I ‘stumbled’ upon your website. I am looking at Filipino aging immigrants and exploring what type of Filipinos are likely to age in America. And so I tried looking at International Students as potential candidates. And lo! Google led me to you.
Your blog caught my attention since I am also a follower of Sociology. I had my undergraduate years in Sociology and is presently pursuing an MA in Gerontology. Hopefully, as I get to complete and finish it, I shall be moving forward onto the next level.
We share a similar profile that’s why I was drawn to read your stuffs. I remember that I applied at a university there in Halifax. I got admitted but there was no funding for an international masteral student. It was my desire to study there in Canada rather than here in America. Well, that is another story. Anyway, I blab too much as you can see (hehehe). Thanks for reading through. It is just that I am amazed that you become in touch with yourself when you move out of your roots and one’s self is seemingly validated upon the knowledge that there are others sharing the same experience.
Again, salamat…Ipagpatuloy ang nasimulan at sana balik ka sa Pinas para ibahagi ang natutunan.

Karel
If you don’t mind me asking, will you go back to our dearest Lupang Hinirang?
